LaVar Ball gets his own autographed trading card deal
LaVar Ball, the outspoken and somewhat controversial father of Lonzo Ball, a top three NBA Draft prospect in this year’s upcoming draft, is back in the spotlight. The Big Baller Brand CEO now has his own trading card thanks to a deal with Leaf Trading Cards.
200 of the cards went on sale last week (June 14th) on eBay for $59.95 and sold out immediately. Each card features Ball’s name, face, autograph, and one of his signature quotes like: “$495 ain’t enough,” "Lonzo better than Steph Curry,” and “Stick to the donuts, Chuck."
On why he offered Ball a deal, LTC CEO Brian Gray told ESPN:
“The fact is that LaVar Ball is a significant pop culture icon. My job is to create a collectible element for personalities like him.”
Ball has gotten a lot of his criticism for the way he handles himself, but it’s a big part of his rise and mainstream attraction. There’s no denying the Big Baller Brand CEO certainly knows how to utilize his big personality and how to monetize the family name.
What's next for LaVar Ball? Stay tuned.
