Instagram is now giving users the ability to add background music to Stories with a new Music Sticker feature. Announced by the popular social media platform in a recent blog post, you can add music to a photo or video you post to Stories by simply tapping the Music Sticker icon, available in the sticker tray.

You will then have access to a library of thousands of songs.  You can search for a specific song or browse by mood or genre. Once you select your desired song, you can fast-forward or rewind it to the specific part of the song that you want to add as background music.

This new feature is a result of Facebook, the parent company of Instagram, striking licensing deals with major records labels such as Warner Brothers, Universal Music Group, and Sony/ATV.

In other Instagram news, it recently released a how-to guide for IGTV that provides users with information on how to create content for the long-form vertical video feature.
