Instagram Is Testing New ‘Creator Account’ Profiles For High-Profile Influencers
According to a report by Hollywood Reporter, Instagram is currently testing new Creator Account profiles geared towards high-profile influencers on the platform.
With Creator Accounts, creators will have access to new tools that provide them with insights pertaining to their account growth as well as filters for organizing their direct messages. When it comes to account growth insights, users will be able to view and analyze data around daily and weekly changes in their follower count. Working across Feed, Stories, and IGTV posts, they will be shown content that led to an increase or decrease in their followers, allowing them to see the performance of their content. As for the direct messaging tools, creators will be able to filter and rank their messages based on relevance or time.
In a statement to Hollywood Reporter, Ashley Yuki, an Instagram product manager said, “We want to make sure that Instagram is the best place, and the easiest place, to build fan communities and also build [creators'] personal brands."
While the Business Profiles that are currently available on Instagram are useful, they certainly don’t meet the needs of most creators. With more in-depth analytics and communication organization tools, Creator Accounts are more tailored to creators, especially those with large followings. Those who do eventually get access to the new type of account will likely embrace it. The new set of tools will help them create content that performs the best with their audience and manage communication with a variety of people, especially brands who reach out to them for collaborations.
In other Instagram news, the platform recently added a new Countdown Sticker feature in Stories.
