Levi Partners with Digital Studio to Experiment with AI-Generated Models for E-Commerce Pages

Levi has announced a partnership with Dutch-based digital studio LaLaLand.ai to experiment with AI-generated models on its e-commerce pages. These models are expected to be hyper-realistic, which sets them apart from other AI-generated models.

According to Levi, the AI-generated models will not replace humans, but will supplement them. The company plans to prioritize hiring more diverse human models. However, it acknowledges that it will be difficult to cover all possible combinations of race, ethnicity, age, body size, and body type.

This example demonstrates how AI can be both beneficial and controversial. AI allows Levi to create a more inclusive and representative shopping experience for consumers. However, even if Levi doesn't intend to replace humans, it could be taking jobs away from actual models. While using AI to be more inclusive is good, Levi and other brands must ensure that they aren't relying on AI as a way to replace the true impact of having diverse partners.
