The newest installment of longtime horror franchise Child's Play arrives this fall on October 3rd. Titled Cult of Chucky, it will forgo the traditional theaters roll out and be a straight-to-video release, available in DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital formats.

Directed by Don Mancini, Cult of Chucky is a direct sequel to Curse of Chucky, which was released in 2013 and starred Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce. Dourif along with other familiar faces in the horror series return including Alex Vincent, who played Andy in the original film and Jennifer Tilly, Chucky's bride Tiffany from the most recent film.

Here's a synopsis of the movie via Blu-Ray.com

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica (Dourif) is wrongly convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new group-therapy tool — a "Good Guy" doll — a string of grisly deaths plague the asylum and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy (Vincent), Chucky's now-grownup nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

After releasing a teaser a few months ago, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment delivers a chilling trailer, which will make any horror fan excited for the upcoming release.  Watch it below and be on the lookout for more Cult of Chucky content.

For those who are really passionate about the series,  Chucky: Complete 7-Movie Collection, a DVD featuring  every film in the series, will be available in the United States to purchase the same day that Cult of Chucky is released.
